Explore the four Nordic capitals on this exclusive tour, including all the major sights of the regions, whilst staying at first class hotels with the best locations. Our capitals are all beautifully situated by the sea and offer a variety of architecture, culture and history. The two overnight cruises offer scenic views of the Stockholm archipelago and the Oslo Fjord.

This tour includes the extension into the Norwegian Fjords.

Day 1     Helsinki
Accommodation: Original Sokos Hotel Presidentti

Arrival in Helsinki according to your own schedule and transfer on

your own to your hotel.

Your tour escort will meet you at 6.00pm in the hotel lobby for a

welcome drink, where you’ll also meet your fellow travelers.

Dinner on your own this evening in the capital.

Bed and Breakfast accommodation in superior room at Original

Sokos Hotel Presidentti, located in the city center.

 
Day 2     Helsinki - Stockholm
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

Breakfast at your hotel. Visit Helsinki in the morning during a 3 hours

city sightseeing with local guide and private coach. Sights of

interest are the Sibelius Monument and Park, the Senate Square and

the Cathedral (no entrances included). Afternoon free for shopping

or exploring this bustling city on the Baltic.

Transfer by private coach to the pier for embarkation on the Tallink

Silja Line ferry for an overnight cruise to Stockholm. We recommend

bringing an overnight bag for this cruise, to avoid having to carry

suitcases to and from the cabin. Luggage handling between coach

and luggage container on board is included.

Buffet dinner on board and accommodation in ocean view cabins

with shower/WC.

 
Day 3     Stockholm

Enjoy your buffet breakfast on board while sailing slowly through the

Stockholm archipelago past numerous small islands. Arrival in

Stockholm at 10:00am in the morning and disembark. Luggage

handling between luggage container and coach is included.

Transfer by private coach to your hotel.

Day free in Stockholm for exploring this beautiful city, often called

the Venice of the North because of its many canals and waterways.

We can recommend a guided boat tour on the canals or to visit

some of the many interesting museums Stockholm has to offer.

Day 4     Stockholm

Breakfast at your hotel.

Discover Stockholm during a 4 hours city sightseeing with a local

guide and private coach. Main sights of interest are the old town

(Gamla Stan), the Royal Palace, the Parliament buildings, the Island

of Djurgården and the City Hall with its famous golden and blue halls

(entrance to City Hall included).

Afternoon free in Stockholm. We can recommend a visit to the

impressive Vasa Museum or the popular ABBA museum.

Day 5     Stockholm - Copenhagen
Accommodation: Phoenix Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer by private coach to the railway

station in Stockholm. Board the SJ train which will take you to

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. Unfortunately, no luggage

handling is possible at the train stations. Duration: Approx. 5 hours. A

hot meal will be served on board and you’ll be travelling first class.

Arrival in Copenhagen and transfer by private coach to your hotel,

located in the city center, close by the charming Nyhavn harbor,

with numerous waterside restaurants and vintage sailing ships, and

within a short walk to the Ströget pedestrian street. Dinner on own.

Day 6     Copenhagen
Accommodation: Phoenix Hotel

Breakfast at your hotel, followed by a 3 hours sightseeing tour of

Copenhagen with a local guide and private coach. Sights of

interest are the Christiansborg palace, the Royal theatre, the City

Hall, the Royal palace Amalienborg, the old harbour of Nyhavn, the

Little Mermaid, the Gefion fountain and the Rosenborg castle (no

entrances included).

Afternoon free in Copenhagen. We can recommend a tour down

the popular pedestrian shopping street – Strøget, or a visit to

Rosenborg Palace. In the harbor by “Ofelia Plads”, just a 3 minutes

walk from Nyhavn, you can join a canal cruise on board one of the

smaller boats belonging to “Hey Captain” for a more personal and

social cruise experience. You might also be interested in visiting the

famous Tivoli Gardens (afternoon activities and entrances not

included).

Day 7     Copenhagen - Oslo
Accommodation: Overnight Ferry, Copenhagen - Oslo
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

After breakfast, morning free in Copenhagen for shopping and

sightseeing. We recommend a guided boat tour on the canal.

Afternoon transfer by private coach to DFDS Seaways terminal for

your overnight cruise to Oslo, departing at approx. 15.00 hrs.

We recommend bringing an overnight bag for this cruise, to avoid

having to carry suitcases to and from the cabin. Luggage can easily

be stored in luggage container before boarding (coach will stop

right by the container).

Enjoy dinner on board as you cruise gently north between Denmark

and Sweden on your way to Oslo. There is dancing and

entertainment on board, or you may prefer to sit out on deck and

watch the sunset.

Buffet dinner on board and accommodation in ocean view cabins

with shower/WC.

 
Day 8     Oslo

Scandinavian buffet breakfast is being served on board as you sail

up the scenic Oslo Fjord to reach the Norwegian capital at 10.00am.

Explore Oslo on a 3 hours city sightseeing tour by private coach with

a local guide and enjoy panoramic views of the Opera house, Karl

Johans gate – Oslo’s main street, Old town Christiania, Akershus

Castle and Fortress, and the Royal Palace. Picturesque ride through

some of Oslo’s prettiest neighborhoods to the Vigeland Park

(entrance free of charge) with its more than 200 sculptures. Entrance

is included to the Norwegian Folk Museum, an open air museum with

160 historic buildings with a main attraction being the Gol Stave

Church from around 1200.

They also have indoor exhibitions which feature Norwegian folk

costumes, folk art, church art and Sami culture.

Afternoon free in Oslo. Oslo is a great choice to experience

architecture, museums and other attractions. Take a stroll through

the new central city district Bjørvika and walk between Oslo’s latest

architectural additions; the Deichman Library and Munch Museum.

We also recommend a stroll along Aker Brygge, a lively pier with

numerous restaurants and departures for sightseeing boats on the

Oslofjord. Dinner on your own.

Day 9     Oslo - Gol - Ulvik
Accommodation: Brakanes Hotel

After breakfast, enjoy a panoramic tour of Oslo, including entrance

to the Fram Museum, before driving via Hønefoss along the

charming Halling Valley to the tourist resort town of Gol. Lunch in

Gol. Cross the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping

to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall with a vertical drop of

180 m. Descend the amazing Måbødal Canyon and across the

Hardanger Bridge, followed by a short drive along the Ulvik Fjord, a

branch of the Hardanger Fjord, to the picturesque village of Ulvik.

Day 10     Hardanger Region - Flam - Gudvangen - Bergen

Breakfast at your hotel, then drive to Voss, where you’ll board the

train to Myrdal, followed by an excursion on the spectacular Flåm

Railway.

Departure on board an eco-friendly ship for a fjord cruise on the

narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord from Flåm to Gudvangen.

Surrounded by steep valley sides and snow-covered peaks,

thundering waterfalls and picturesque villages, this area has been

judged one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world and

is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Scenic tour along the beautiful Hardanger Fjord, famous for its many

Day 11     Bergen - Oppedal - Balestrand

After breakfast, enjoy a 2 hours city sightseeing tour of Bergen with a

local guide, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market,

the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled packhouses, and the

old Hanseatic Quarter. After the city tour, you’ll go on a return ride

on the Bergen Funicular to the top of Mount Fløien. Enjoy great

views over the fjords and mountains surrounding the city of Bergen.

Continue north by coach to Oppedal, for the short ferry crossing to

Lavik. Drive along the Sognefjord to the beautiful resort of

Balestrand.

Day free in Balestrand, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the

outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords.

The day starts with a traditional Norwegian buffet breakfast in the

hotel’s elegant dining room.

You may want to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel terrace,

breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular

views.

We can also recommend a visit to the local aquarium and art

gallery, or you may prefer to rent a bike or rowing boat from the

hotel, or even go on foot up to the nearest mountains.

A walking tour of the village of Balestrand, with its historic buildings

and other interesting sites can also be arranged.

Day 13     Balestrand - Briksdal - Loen
Accommodation: Alexandra Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

After breakfast, departure from your hotel by ferry from Dragsvik to

Hella, followed by a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sogn

Fjord to Sogndal.

The tour continues by road to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal

Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei at the northern

end of beautiful Lake Jølster. Descend to the Nord Fjord, making a

detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier.

Lunch at a local restaurant, before making the excursion up to the

glacier by open cars – “Troll cars” - to the stand about 700 m away

from the glacier. You will have a nice walk to the glacier, before

returning by Troll cars. Return to Olden and arrive in Loen, a small

village situated by the fjord, surrounded by majestic mountains and

green hills.

Day 14     Geiranger - Lom - Lillehammer

Breakfast at your hotel before departure by coach to Hellesylt.

Enjoy a cruise on the Geirangerfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in

Norway, from Hellesylt to Geiranger.

The Geirangerfjord is one of the most famous fjords in the world and

has been a part of the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005.

Surrounded by deep blue water and green valleys, you will also see

magnificent waterfalls such as the "Seven Sisters" and the "Bridal

Veil".

Lunch in Geiranger.

Discover the roads that twist and turn through one hairpin bend after

another to Geiranger Skywalk - Mt. Dalsnibba - to experience a

panoramic view of one of the most scenically outstanding fjord areas

on the planet (weather permitting).

Your journey continues to Lom, well known for its 14th century stave

church, before descending the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to the

charming town of Lillehammer.

Day 15     Oslo

After breakfast, drive alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake,

and arrive in Oslo, the capital, situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord.

Visit the Holmenkollen Ski Museum & Tower, where you’ll discover the

world’s oldest ski museum, see exhibitions of the polar explorers and

enjoy a great panoramic view of Oslo and the fjord.

Drive back down to the city center for check-in at your hotel.

Dinner on your own in Oslo.

Day 16     Oslo

Buffet breakfast at your hotel.

Depending on your own schedule, if you have time free in the

morning, we recommend a stroll along Aker Brygge, a lively pier with

Oslo Fjord. Or, you might want to take a stroll through the new central

city district Bjørvika and walk between Oslo’s latest architectural

additions; the Deichman Library and Munch Museum.

Transfer on your own to Oslo Airport - Gardermoen - in connection

with your flight home.
