Hotel Borgarnes is a three-star hotel in a town of 2000 inhabitants, 70 kilometres west of Reykjavik. Every effort is made to provide guests with good, personal service. Location

Adjacent to the hotel is a large outdoor swimming pool with hot pools. Several sites mentioned in the Saga of Egill, one of the gems of Icelandic medieval literature, are also found in the immediate vicinity. There are many opportunities for outdoor recreation in the area: scenic hiking and riding paths, historical monuments, and an interesting museum.Borgarnes is an attractive town with a population of about 2000. It is a centre for trade and services in the Borgarfjordur area. Two university-level institutions are found in this district: the Commercial College at Bifr and the Agricultural College at Hvanneyri. In addition, Snorrastofa in Reykholt is a European centre for research in medieval literature.

Borgarnes is only a short distance from Snefellsnes peninsula, Deildartunga, the waterfalls at Hraunfossar, the cave Surtshellir, and Langsjokull glacier. The town is located on National Highway No. 1, which extends all the way around the country.
