Islay, Scotland

The Hebridean Islands of Islay and Jura are the perfect place for a relaxing break. Islay, the southern most of the Hebridean Islands, is famed for its malt whisky distilleries, its wildlife and the friendliness of the locals.

Islay & Jura are home to nine world famous malt whisky distilleries, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Bowmore, Coal Ila, Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich, and Kilchoman (the most recent addition), not forgetting the Jura Distillery. Islay and Jura have a multitude of wildlife on land, sea and air, many fine fishing lochs (not to mention sea fishing!) a mild climate and not forgetting 3500 very friendly locals!

Jura is home to more than 5000 deer and 150 people! Both Islands have stunning scenery, magnificent views, wonderful walks and are home to a stunning array of high quality locally produced food and drink.

If you feel a little more energetic, then they are often ceilidhs (informal social gatherings of music, dance and song) to be found in local hostelries.
