Evighedsfjord (Eternity Fjord), Greenland

Eternity Fjord

Eternity Fjord lies some way from Maniitsoq, but is well worth the journey. The long, meandering fjord is surrounded by some of the highest mountains in West Greenland, which rise almost vertically to a height of 2000 metres (6500 feet). Green valley gorges vie with glaciers that almost seem to tumble out over the mountainsides, and an impressive bird cliff is also passed en route. At certain times of the year, there are also good chances of seeing seals and whales.
