Ebeltoft is a charming little village on the east coast of the Jutland Peninsular. It has a long history as a center of trade and fishing ranging all the way back to the Viking times. After one of the many northern wars, Ebeltoft was burned and neglected for many years. This neglect allowed many of the surviving old buildings to retain their charm. Ebeltoft is one of the tourist centres of Denmark, due to the natural beauty of the area, its old town center with cobble stoned streets and half timbered houses centuries old and, not least, a large amount of beaches. Also, it is home to one of the world's first glass museums and the Fregatten Jylland, the longest wooden warship in the World.

The Old Town Hall was built in 1789. Today The Old Town Hall houses a regional museum. Ticket to The Old Town Hall also gives access to Ebeltoft Museum and vice versa. Ebeltoft Museum also houses a considerable ethnographic collection from the old Thailand.

Come visit and discover the story of the world's longest wooden ship, the Frigate Jylland. The Wooden Shipyard of the Frigate Jylland offers lots of adventure for all ages. Embark the vessel and discover the atmosphere on board. See the elegant saloons, the 42 cannons and the impressive rigging. See how wooden ships are hauled up on the slipway, repaired and put out to sea again. The shipwrights, smiths and painters are in charge of the maintenance of the frigate, and the beautiful results of their crafts can be seen everywhere on board.

Glasmuseet Ebeltoft houses a large collection of contemporary glass from all over the world. Additionally, the museum stages 6-9 seperate exhibitions each year. The museum shop and gallery have a wide selection og glass items and sculptures designed by Danish and international artists. From April to November glassblowing demonstrations can be seen every day. For fans of alternative energy, there is the windmill Park. The Windmill Park has 4 big windmills, which are situated on a pier at the seaside. The Windmill Park is the first in the world open air alternative energy park.

At the Ebeltoft Zoo & Safari you can watch more than 100 species from all over the world. The park is divided into four continents which have more than 800 animals living in open surroundings with no tall fences or bars between the animals and visitors.
