Bastia
BASTIA

Bastia is one of the most thriving port towns in the north of Corsica and can be easily reached by ferry from the mainland. The town has an Italian flair and is known for its old harbour, the Vieux Port, its alleys and the place St Nicolas, where all the hustle and bustle takes place. You can visit the Sainte Marie Citadel which is just a short walk from the town centre.

Although Corsica is still ruled by France, the island has a distinctive Italian feeling. The island is not densely populated. There are about 250,000 inhabitants and most live in either Bastia or Ajaccio. As a result, there are vast areas of unspoiled scenery. Its inhabitants call it the Island of Beauty. You will certainly agree after seeing the beautiful lakes and snow-capped mountains.

You can choose to visit the olive trees and vineyards, the little white towns in the countryside, the cultural heritage of Napoleon in Ajaccio or explore the unspoilt snow-capped mountains from central Corte. While you decided on your travel plan, take a glass of Patrimonio wine, sit back on the beach at Calvi and enjoy the Island of Beauty.
