The Three Gorges Deluxe River Cruise is a twelve (12) day cruise including a stay on the President 8 Cruise Ship, hotel accommodations for stays along your journey, 27 meals throughout, airfare within China as stated within the itinerary, shore excursion and much more along the great Yangtze River. You will have the opportunity to visit many of the bustling popular cities as well as some small quaint towns you may have never heard of. Itinerary

 
Day 1     Beijing

Arrive in the evening and transfer on your own to your 5* hotel. Due to various arrival times, meals are on your own. Overnight at Grand Mercure Hotel or similar.

 
Day 2     Beijing
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

Morning city tour of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Then tour the Hutong, the old part of Beijing via rickshaw bicycle. End the tour with a visit to a local family for lunch. The balance of the day, including dinner is on your own.

Overnight at Grand Mercure Hotel or similar.

 
Day 3     Beijing
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

This morning you will depart for an excursion to the Great Wall, where lunch will be served after the tour. On your way back, visit a Jade factory and stop for a photo opportunity at the fabulous “Birds Nest” Olympic Stadium.. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner featuring the famous Peking Duck!

Overnight at Grand Mercure Hotel or similar.

 
Day 4     Beijing - Xian
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

After breakfast, your visit of historic Beijing includes the Lama Temple and the Temple of Heaven. A Beijing noodle lunch is followed by a flight to Xian. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel with free time to relax at your new destination. Dinner is on your own.

Day 5     Xian
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

Full day of sightseeing, begins with a visit to the excavation site and the Terra Cotta Museum. This is followed by a short stop at the Xian Ceramic and Art Workshop. Your Chinese lunch includes a noodle making demonstration. In the afternoon learn more about Shaanxi Province, with a visit to the historical museum. In the evening a dumpling dinner is followed by an entertaining Tang Dynasty

performance. Overnight at the Days Suites or similar

 
Day 6     Xian
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

Morning visits to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the historic City Walls, before transfering to the airport for your flight to Guilin. The balance of the day is free. Overnight at Bravo Hotel or similar.

 
Day 7     Chongqing
On Board the MS Yangtze President 8
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner

CHONGQING- Embarkation (B,L,D)

What is a visit to China, without seeing the pandas? This morning you will stop by the Chongqing Panda Zoo to see them first hand. In the afternoon, for World War II buffs, visit the Stillwell Museum, followed by a stop at a local market. Sichuan is famous for their piquant food, and dinner this evening is at a hot pot restaurant (non-spicy alternates available). In the evening transfer to the pier for embarkation on the deluxe Yangtze River cruise ship. All cabins are outside with private balconies.

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B,L,D)

Morning optional tour to Fengdu. After lunch enjoy the included excursion to Shibaozhai. Evening Captain’s Welcome Banquet.

 
Day 9     Yangtze River

YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE (B,L,D)

Morning optional tour to the White Emperor City. Following passage thru the Qutang and Wu Gorges, board small sampans for your included boat excursion along the Shennong Stream.

 
Day 10     Shanghai
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

YICHANG-SHANGHAI- Disembarkation (B,L)

Morning tour of the Three Gorges dam site. Disembark in Yichang and transfer to your flight to Shanghai. On arrival, transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is free and dinner is on your own.

 
Day 11     Shanghai
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

SHANGHAI (B,D)

Morning sightseeing in old Shanghai, with escorted tour of the Yu Yuan Gardens. Free time on your own for lunch in the old town area. In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the Bund and the modern but historic Shanghai Museum. Dinner at a local restaurant is followed by a performance of the famous Chinese Acrobats!

 
Day 12     Shanghai
Meals: Breakfast

SHANGHAI (B)

Full free day in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Enjoy the city on your own, shop ‘till you drop or take one of the offered optional tours such as a full day to Suzhou – China’s “Venice”, the city on canals.

 
Day 13     Shanghai
Meals: Breakfast / Lunch

SHANGHAI – HOME (B)

Pack your memories away as you transfer to the airport, and bid adieu to China.

 
Day 14     Hong Kong
Meals: Breakfast

Transfer to the airport, and bid adieu to mainland China as you cross the South China Sea to Hong Kong. Your shuttle transfer will deliver you to your first class Kowloon hotel. Dinner on your own.

Overnight Harbor Plaza Metropolis Hotel or similar.
