The fjord is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. From Geiranger there are magnificent views to the fjord. Continue to Lom, which is famous for its large wooden church, dating back to the 13th century and still in use for services. During the cruise you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks and a variety of wildlife. Disembark in Gudvangen and drive up the Stalheim road, which is the steepest in Northern Europe, for breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain peaks and the Stalheim Canyon. It is possible to take a ride on the funicular to Mount Fløien and enjoy a panoramic view of Bergen and surroundings. Leaving Bergen might be difficult but more impressions wait as you continue to the famous Hardanger fjord, known as “the fertile fjord” due to the hundreds of thousands of apple trees lining the hillsides. From Bruravik, take a ferry to Brimnes, and continue to the valley of Måbødalen and the town of Fossli. There we recommend a stop to admire the highest waterfall of Norway, Vøringsfossen, 180 m. It is possible to take the ‘Troll Train’ which follows the old road through the valley of Måbø, now closed for ordinary traffic, between the farm of Måbø and the top of the waterfall. The ride takes about 20 minutes each way. Continue through the mountain region of Hardanger to the village of Geilo and Ål.
