Enjoy Norway's "forgotten" region of beautiful Telemark in the southeast corner of Norway! A couple of days to explore Oslo, Norway's capital will round off this enjoyable package.

Itinerary

Arrive in Oslo and make your way to your hotel. The rest of the is free to explore the city.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel – before you make your way to the Oslo Centralstation, conveniently located a short walk from your hotel - ask front desk for directions if you need help with locating it.

Train from Oslo to SkienDep. 9.30amArr. 1.25pm

Arrive Skien and make your way to your hotel for the night. The hotel is a 10 minutes ride by car. Suggest you take a taxi from train station to hotel (taxi is not included, estimated cost is about $25

Enjoy overnight and breakfast at Clarion Collection Hotel Bryggeparken with views over the Telemark Canal.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before you make your way to the point of departure for your “Telemark Canal Tour” onboard one of the old, antique boats trafficking the canals, from Skien to Dalen. The walk is about 9 minutes by following the water. The hotel desk are of assistance if you need help!

Arrive Dalen and make your way to your hotel for the next 2 night, a wonderful stroll up from the arrival point of the Telemark canal tour, about 400 meters walk (if you are in need of assistance getting up to the hotel, catch a ride with the veteran bus at the arriving spot up to the hotel).

Breakfast at your hotel before you spend another day in this wonderful part of the Telemark region.

Perhaps book an SPA treatment whilst here? Suggest that you do this well in advance to ensure availability.

The Dalen Hotel offers beautiful garden areas of close to 300.000 square feet leading down to Bandak and Dalen Pier, the end station of the Telemark Canal. The garden at Dalen Hotel has hosted a wide range of different events, concerts and dinners. On fine summer evenings, we like to set the tables for an outdoor dinner under the towering sugar maple. This beautiful tree is the same age as the hotel and provides a fantastic backdrop for you and your guests.

The hotel offers two small rowing boats, available for you if a small trip on the fjord is requested. Or maybe a game of croquet sounds more tempting? Necessary croquet equipment can be borrowed at the front desk. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Dalen Hotel.

Enjoy breakfast this morning before you head back to Oslo by bus.

Bus from Dalen to Åmot *Dep. 1.10pm Arr.1.40pm

In Åmot – a small village in Vinje, Telemark, you change bus and continue to Oslo by the Haukeliexpressbus. Dep. 2.15pm Arr. 6.20pm

Arrive Oslo in the evening and make your way to your hotel for the night.
