We are offering three departures dates which each co-incide with an important Russian Winter Holiday: New Year on the 12/29 departure, Orthodox Russian Christmas on the 1/5 departure and the Great Malenitsa, the Russian way of saying good-bye to the winter with impetuous fun, reckless pleasures and pancakes as a symbol of the sun, on the 2/9 departure. The New Year trip includes a non-optional New Year Gala. There are special dinners on the other holidays which are optional.

Day 1     St. Petersburg
Accommodation: Ambassador Hotel

Arrival in St. Petersburg and transfer to hotel. Welcome meeting in the evening.

 
Day 2     St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg is an amazing city. Its imperial palaces and museums enjoy worldwide fame, while the Neva River and the many canals have deservedly given the city the title The Venice of the North. During the morning sightseeing tour we get acquainted with all the splendors of the city: the Winter Palace, St. Isaacs Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and much more. In the afternoon, we visit to the world-famous Hermitage Art Museum and in the evening an optional visit to the Maly Theater is on the program.

 
Day 3     St. Petersburg
Accommodation: Ambassador Hotel
Meals: Breakfast / Dinner

This morning we visit a mass in the Orthodox Trimity-Church and visit to the Peter-and-Paul Fortress to see the Peter-and-Paul Cathedral, the pantheon of the Russian czar from Peters the Great to Nicolas the 2nd The afternoon is reserved for an optional guided shopping tour on Nevsky Prospect. In the evening, depending on the date, we enjoy a New Year Gala or an optional Christmas dinner or a Maslenitsa dinner.

 
Day 4     St. Petersburg

The morning is free for exploring more of St. Petersburg on your own. In the afternoon we are embarking on a real Russian winter adventure The half day tour takes us to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherines Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburgs tri-centennial celebrations. After the tour of the palace we visit the park and try a genuine Russian troika ride in the park We warm up again with pancakes, tea and vodka. In the evening an oprional farewell dinner at Restaurant Hermitage, located directly on the Palace Square
