Spitsbergen Trekking

5 Days / 2 locations in Svalbard, Norway and Norway

Spitsbergen Trekking is a five day adventure, walking amongst rising peaks and mighty glaciers, from a basecamp site next to the Svea glacier in Ekmanfjorden, located in the west of Spitsbergen.

This trekking tour at 78° north is recommended for those who enjoy trekking in the mountains and who would like to experience the Arctic landscapes without having to carry a lot of heavy equipment.

The Spitsbergen Trekking expeditions are led by our most experienced tour guides. The camp is equipped with large common tents used during meals, for drying clothes, etc., and smaller tents for sleeping. There are no paths or roads here - the terrain is rocky, wild, untouched and beautiful!

The days are full of possibilities - walk along lush beach plains, climb through the ice, wander across glaciers and hike in Lappdalen, on Haugsmarka or Bertilryggen! Each evening, during dinner, the group will plan the route for the next day in consultation with our guide and the weather forecast.

Join us for hiking in small groups, with a guide who is familiar with the area, and who carries all necessary safety equipment. The terrain is marvellous, and living in the camp intensifies the feeling of freedom from civilisation and the isolation of being in the wild Arctic.
