Itinerary

After arrival in Alta, departure by shuttle coach for Karasjok at 2:50 PM. There is one departure only. A guide from Alta Guideservice will meet the guest at the airport and follow the group to Karasjok. Arrive at the hotel at 6:00 PM. Lunch will be served on the bus. At 7:00 PM we will have a get together and informational meeting to discuss the Sami village of Karasjok and review all the optional activities that will be available. Dinner follows this meeting.

This morning, you can pick up your winter clothes in Sapmi Park and at 10:00 AM you will be treated to a presentation on Sami culture. This will be followed by a guided tour of the park and a visit to the Magical Theater. After the Magical Theatre you have a possibility to visit the Silversmith and the handicraft shop.

Optional activities in the morning:

11:00 AM â 1:00 PM Snowmobile safari. Drive your own snowmobile along the river and up into the mountains, where you can enjoy the amazing landscape. NB! Children under 12 are not allowed. Children over 12 can only participate as passenger.

Optional Children program: 11:00 AM â 1:00 PM. Mrs Santa´s Christmas School Bake and decorate gingerbreads, make and decorate candles and listen and sing Christmas songs.

A buffet lunch is available from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Optional activity in the evening:

5:00 PM â 7:00 PM Hunting for the Northern Lights. Transport by bus to the countryside and the Northern Lights camp. Here you are able to look out for the northern lights in the darkness. Karasjok is one of the best places to see the Northern Light due to the cold and stable weather. Stories about Northern lights, sami culture ( shaman, joik etc.) Serving warm drinks.

7:00 â 10:00 PM. Dinner in Storgammen restaurant - a Sami restaurant next to the hotel. You will be served a traditional Sami meal. Set menu 3 course.

Optional activity in the morning:

10:00 AM â Noon. Visit a Sami camp. Take part in traditional Sami activities; throwing lassos, driving reindeers and listen to Sami joik (chant) while you enjoya cup of coffee, tea or reindeer consommé by the fire in the lavvu.

1:00 PM â 3:00 PM Lunch is served in the hotel restaurant.

Optional activity in the afternoon:

3:00 PM Guided kick sledge trip in the village of Karasjok

7:00 PM â 10:00 PM. Dinner in the hotel restaurant

Optional activity in the morning:

9:00 AM â 11:00 AM. Husky safari. We go by bus to the Teigmo Farm where you will be briefed on how to drive a dog sledge before we set out for a trip into the forest. Incl.hot drinks.

1:00 PM â 3.00 PM. Lunch is served in the hotel restaurant

4:00 PM â 5:00 PM. Return of winter clothes at Sápmi Park

7:00 PM â 8:00 PM. Get together for a New Year drink in the hotel lounge

8:00 PM. New Year dinner. Buffet in the hotel restaurant.

Midnight. A glass of champagne will be served during the fireworks

After midnight we can welcome you to a party with music and dancing.

Your shuttle bus departs at 9:00 AM and arrives at the Alta Airport at Noon.
