Itinerary

29.12.2014 MONDAY

First you will be transported from Rovaniemi airport to the Lapland.

Welcome safari office in Rovaniemi for receiving the winter adventure gear and latest information about the package and the schedule. Then you will be transported to your hotel. Dinner & overnight at Hotel Aakenus.

30.12.2014 TUESDAY

Snowmobile safari to Santa Claus Village.

Experience snowmobile driving across snowy wilderness forests. All adults may drive and children and those who want may sit as passengers. After a while we reach the Arctic Circle and Santa Claus Village. In the Santa Claus Village we cross the Arctic Circle and get certificates of crossing as a memory. We meet Santa Claus himself and have an opportunity to buy a picture with Santa. We may write and send postcards in Santa's post office. Santa Claus Village is a great place for shopping souvenirs and handicrafts. We will also enjoy a light lunch during the day before returning to the hotel. Dinner & overnight Hotel Aakenus.

31.12.2014 New Year's Eve WEDNESDAY

Today we visit a husky farm and enjoy their one hour driving safari. All adults may drive exchanging the drivers on the half way. In the afternoon we go for a short snowshoe hike in the snowy wilds.

This is an opportunity to admire the beauty of Lapland in the middle of the snowy forest. In the evening we will be transported to the wilderness and up the arctic hill for watching the Northern Lights and celebrating the New Year. Hopefully we have some luck and we could witness this phenomenon. We also try some old Finnish shamanism and see your future in a piece of tin :) There will be fireworks at midnight, champagne. This is a New Year of a life time To see Northern Lights you need luck. Overnight at the hotel.

1.1.2015 New Year's day THURSDAY

Today we get up a little later and head out to an authentic reindeer farm that is located in a small village outside of town. We meet the reindeer herders wearing traditional clothes and admire their skills in handling the reindeer. After a short briefing we go on a Reindeer safari. We sit on a Reindeer sleigh and enjoy this peaceful ride along beautiful Lapland landscape. Afterwards we listen to stories about Reindeer herding in the wilderness. Back to the hotel- dinner & overnight.

After breakfast Transfer to the airport. Good bye Lapland!
