Itinerary

ARRIVAL

When arriving at Keflavik Airport your rental car awaits. Follow the main road towards Reykjavík, depending on the time of your flight either go straight to your hotel in Reykjavik or stop by at the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing dip in the geothermal waters.

GOLDEN SITES

The day is spent visiting the best known nature sites in Iceland. Start with Thingvellir National Park, former site of the Icelandic parliament. The park itself is situated in a stunning volcanic landscape of mountains and lava flows. Continue to the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring area. Overnight in Fludir area.

BLACK SAND BEACHES AND WATERFALLS

Drive along the scenic south shore, viewing various beautiful waterfalls such as Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss along the way. The Skógar Folk Museum is not to be missed. Visit the impressive black beaches below Mýrdalsjökull glacier and the surrounding areas of the 2010 volcanic eruption. Continue via the charming village of Vík to Kirkjubaejarklaustur for your overnight stay.

SOUTH SHORE AND REYKJAVIK

Today return to Reykjavik along the south shore. Once you arrive in Reykjavík you can use the time to do some shopping, bathing in the thermal pools, visit museums or galleries, to mention a few of the endless possibilities the Reykjavik area has to offer.

Drive back to Keflavik International Airport where you will return the car.
