Arctic SnowHotel is an entire winter wonderland, a lifetime

experience destination that provides the opportunity to

explore ice and snow structures, spectacular ice sculptures

and arctic specialties, such as the snow sauna. During your memorable visit, the guide will tell you about the construction, operation and special features of the

SnowHotel. After the tour of the SnowHotel, it is time for a dinner with atmosphere in a warm Lappish tepee. Before going to sleep in your snow white arctic hotel room, you have got time to take photos of ice sculptures and snow constructions and perhaps Aurora Borealis. Bed are covered with reindeer skin and sleeping bags are suitable for arctic conditions.

Itinerary

Arctic sky –all night long

Arrival to Ivalo, the northernmost airport in Finland and transfer to Kakslauttanen Igloo Village. Celebrate your first night in Lapland by enjoying traditional Finnish sauna!

Dinner is served in a comfortable wooden restaurant of the

village. Overnight in glass igloo; tonight you have possibility to observe dark arctic sky all night long the glass roof while lying in your comfortable bed.

Getting closer to nature with huskies

After a rich buffet breakfast the husky farmer will pick you up from Kakslauttanen. At his farm you will be provided thermal outfits. Then it is time to meet the friendly and happy dogs who are eagerly waiting in front of the sledges to set off in a hurry. Husky dogs love running and can’t wait to get going!

The husky farmer will give instructions on how to stop, turn and drive the husky sledge pulled by several dogs. Drivers can take turns, one seated in the sleigh, one standing and driving in the back. Two hours go so quickly and the dogs are ready for more running, but it is time for a coffee and stories about life as a husky dog. Return to Kakslauttanen. In the afternoon 3-hour bus ride to “south” to Rovaniemi located at the Arctic Circle. Accommodation at a centrally located hotel.

Aurora Borealis safari on a reindeer sledge

Buffet breakfast in hotel. Today you have all day at your disposal to visit Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland either by your own or joining one of the Viada Safaris. Arktikum Museum, Santa Claus Village, Snowmobile Safaris or perhaps cruise on Icebreaker? S

In the evening when the sky gets dark it´s time for a Aurora Borealis Night Safari in a reindeer sleigh. Spend one “not so ordinary” evening by traveling in a sleigh pulled by a reindeer with a local reindeer herder! Safari takes you for a peaceful to silent nature far away from city lights. This is just a perfect way to observe arctic sky, stars and if you are lucky, also the Aurora Borealis. After the trip hot drinks and snacks are served in a “Kammi” cottage at the farm. By the fire you

can have an interesting chat with a local reindeer herder about Lappish way of life and reindeer husbandry.

DAY 4- Ultimate night in Snow Hotel
