The rest of the day is at leisure Overnight at Scandic Sydhavnen Day 2 Copenhagen - AarhusMeals: BreakfastBreakfast at the hotel. This morning we depart by private coach with our local guide for a 3 hour city sightseeing tour. This tour will be the perfect introduction to "Wonderful Copenhagen". We start with a drive towards the City Hall Square where the famous pedestrian street "Stroeget" begins. We pass the Tivoli Gardens, dating back to 1843 and onwards past the New Carlsberg Glyptotheque and the National Museum. Next up is the Old Stock Exchange and the Naval Church. We drive past the Kings New Square, the home of the Royal Danish Theatre with the world famous ballet, then through the old canal area, Nyhavn, with its picturesque houses and vessels.We continue on to see the impressive Gefion Fountain and then for a photo stop at the Royal residence, Amalienborg Palace. Finally, we stop by the landmark of Copenhagen, the statue of the Little Mermaid, known from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. After lunch (not included) departure towards the island of Fyn also called "Garden of Denmark". On our journey we will cross the Great Belt, one of the largest bridges in Europe, inaugurated in 1998. Brief stop in Odense, hometown of Hans Christian Andersen, author of children’s stories famous as "The Tin Soldier", "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Little Mermaid". Continue towards to Aarhus in the penynsula of Jutland. Founded around the beginning of the 10th century by the Vikings, it is the second largest city and port in Denmark and also an important cultural centre. Arrive in Aarhus at the end of the day Overnight at Scandic Aarhus Vest Departure for Hirtshals and board a "ferry-boat" for crossing the Skagerrak Strait (Hirtshals-Kristiansand ferry). Arrive in Kristiansand and continue the journey through beautiful landscapes and fjords by Lyngdal and Kvinesdal to Stavanger, charming port city of southern Norway Overnight Scandic Forum Breakfast at the hotel. After lunch ( not including ) meet your guide to continue the journey through beautiful landscapes and magnificent fjords to Mortavika (ferry Mortravika-Arsvagen). Travel along the coast to Sandviksvagen, (ferry Sandviksvagen-Halhjelm) and proceed to Bergen, the second largest Norwegian city also known as the "city of wood". Bergen is the "gateway to the fjords". Surrounded by seven hills and protected by a ring of islands it is considered one of the most enchanting Norwegian cities. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. Floeyen Duration: the journey takes 5-8 minutes The Floeibanen funicular in Bergen in the heart of Bergen is one of Norway’s best-known attractions. The journey up to the peak of Mount Floeyen (320 m above sea level) takes 5–8 minutes. The journey is an experience in itself, cutting through the steep mountain side and forests revealing more of the city below. At the top you can enjoy fantastic views over Bergen and Norwegian coastline Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to one of the most beautiful routes of our trip. Passing through regions of rare beauty, where the high mountains are mirrored in the tranquility of the lakes, before entering the narrow valleys of fjord Norway, passing by Gudvangen and Naeroyfjord, the narrowest in Europe; before arriving to idyllic Flaam, located on the tip of Aurlandsfjord. Both of these fjords are part of the Sognfjord which, with its 204 km long and 1308 meters deep, is considered the most emblematic of Norway and the second largest in the world. Free time in Flåm. In the afternoon, continue the journey by bus to the beautiful small city of Fagernes, a significant storehouse of Norwegian cultural history. The 2-hour train journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar road, steep mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, 20 tunnels and offers a multitude of views. In the span of two hours, the train takes you from the ocean level at the Sognefjord in Flam, to the mountaintop at Myrdal mountain station on Hardangervidda, 863 meters over the ocean, and back down again, giving plenty of time to enjoy it all. A photo stop is made on the top at Myrdal station and by the waterfall Kjosfossen Optional: Stegastein Viewpoint Duration: approximately 2 hoursMinimum 6 persons An unmissable sightseeing trip for any visitor to Flaam. The Stegastein Viewpoint is part of the Norwegian Scenic Route that runs from Aurland to Laerdal. This structure, which juts out 30 meters from the mountainside, 650 meters about the fjord, offers and unparalleled panorama. A more amazing view of the fjord, mountains and surrounding is hard to imagine. After breakfast, we travel towards Oslo, leaving the mountains behind us. Early afternoon arrival in Oslo and check-in to the hotel. Experience a panoramic sightseeing tour of the Norwegian capital, beautifully situated by a fjord. We will enjoy the view from the Opera house, visit The Vigeland Park and pass the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl Johan. Depart Oslo and travel (by coach or train) to Stockholm, passing through Norwegian and Swedish forests, and through the region of Varmland, the home of many legends. The city, built on 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges, embraces the unique character of 13th century Old Town with modern high-tech architecture. Stockholm is proudly called “Beauty on Water”. The sightseeing tour includes the chance for an outside view of the historically significant City Hall, the place of the Nobel festivities. Feel the medieval atmosphere of the Old Town "Gamla Stan", with its Cathedral and Stortorget, where the Stockholm Blood Bath took place.
