The hotel\'s charm is built, to a great extent, on the 139 individually and beautifully furnished rooms, many of which have high ceilings, stucco work, open fireplaces and oriel windows. We also offer a comfortable restaurant, a cozy pub and modern conference rooms.

n 1870 when the hotel was founded, there was access to materials and craftsmanship you can only dream of today. Marble, high-grade wood and cut glass chandeliers created a very special atmosphere. At that time it was one of the largest hotels in Sweden and this was also the yearly meeting place for the wealthy forest owners, an ongoing tradition even today.

In 1904 electricity came to the hotel and a few years later every room had electrical heating, which was an immense luxury in those days. Over the years, the hotel has been carefully renovated to maintain the original atmosphere. Our goal is to keep it at its high level of cultural and functional condition for at least another 130 years. Elite Hotels has owned the hotel since 1984.

The calm atmosphere and the view over the river and the park are fascinating. Three of our Elite Class rooms include an extra-equipped working space with ISDN, printer, desk lamp, water heater and a dressing gown. If you need a temporary workplace we can offer you WirelessLAN and we also have a guest computer with a colour printer at your request.

Most of our rooms in the hotel and the whole third floor are smoke-free. Every room has cable-TV, telephone, bath tub/shower and a trouser press. All of our guests are also welcome to use the relaxation department.
